Blackhat talk: "My Arduino can beat up your hotel room lock"

The paper is about a month old, but it's now been picked up by the Economist, so lots of business travellers now know about it.

This just points out the problems with hotel room locks. The discussion on Bruce Schenier's blog is helpful for its discussion of the context in which hotels operate.

I do like the lockbox alarm cabled to an immovable object idea suggested by one commenter, but as he mentions it's often hard to find anything immovable in a modern hotel room.

Last time I cable-locked something--in a hostel room in Dublin--I locked it to the radiator.
