(no subject)

Does anyone know if I can reuse someone else's lj poll by embedding it in one of my posts somehow, or do I have to repeat their poll independently, or something in between?

Amalgamating data is actually one of the objectives, so if that happens, it won't be a problem.

I don't know for sure, but it would surprise me if there were any way to have a single poll appear in two posts (as distinct from having two identical polls).

Why not just point to their post in your LJ?

You'll have to repeat it yourself. The polls are very sensitive to tampering, and the code disables itself if you even click "edit" once you've posted the poll. I discovered this by trying to correct a typo in a poll I made, and ruining it.

It's friends-locked, alas.

Okay, good to know.

Thanks!

Here's some poll code. It has no purpose other than testing, so don't worry about breaking it. (My test account isn't allowed to create polls, so I couldn't test it that way.)

<lj-poll name='testing' whovote='all' whoview='all'>
<lj-pq type='radio'>
What is the name of this poll?
<lj-pi>Smullyan
<lj-pi>This poll has no name
<lj-pi>huh?
</lj-pq>

how many places can I post this?
