Unity Games XII: Framingham, MA; Saturday, 27 Jan 2007.

[livejournal.com profile] banana_pants just sent this out to a mailing list I'm on:

http://www.unitygames.org/ugxii/ugxii.htm

In the Eastern Massachusetts area we have a loose coalition of gamers and game-groups known as Unity Games. Occasionally we hold full-day gaming events where we try to get all the area groups and gamers together along with their friends to play board and card games.

[livejournal.com profile] tactical_grace is one of the folks the page says you can hand your $10 pre-reg to, if that makes things easier.

(Posted for general information, as I'm pretty sure some of my friends will be interested.)

Hmm, that's the same weekend as Vericon. Which is closer. :)

Damn, beat me to it! Also, Vericon has Guy Gavriel Kay this year, which is a big deal. If only I had time to reread a few of his before the con, but I don't....

Whoa. I know at least one person in the pictures on that site. Wow, too bad it's the same weekend as Vericon....

I've been to several of these; they were a lot of fun. However, transportation issues became really problematical for me when they moved to Waltham, so I stopped going.

The folks who organize it are very friendly and welcoming, and they always arrange for volunteers to run a "demo" table where they explain and demonstrate games. This saves newbies from having to wander around trying to meet people and join games they may not be familiar with.

If only I didn't live two-thousand seven-hundred miles away, I would so be there! Wish I had a group like this out here.
