Mike Gravel, 2008.

"Man, I don't get it. Pass me the pipe."
"Dude, you could smoke a whole bowl and it still wouldn't make any sense."

(Thanks to JW.)

So... that's his election schpeil? Go for the easily amused/confused voter demographic?

He won me over. He has an admirable platform. I think we should all throw rocks into lakes.

Seriously, the more I learn about Gravel, the more I like him. Crazy? Undoubtedly. You'd have to be crazy to challenge the more well-funded and well-known candidates. But these ads (I'm actually not sure what to call these pieces) have made me want to learn more about him, and for now, I'm going to give him my support. Why? He's pretty harmless overall, but the longer he stays in the race the more he'll keep everyone else honest and on their toes. Besides, it's still so freakin' early in the process that nothing that happens now really matters.

You know, it got me to go to the website, which was probably all it was intended to do.

(On the other hand, it didn't get me to *read* the website.)

I think the only thing to say is "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude".

Yeah, but you know, lots more people know who Gravel is now. Like me, for instance. I'd never heard of the man prior to this.
