Another signage/signaling difference: a rapidly-flashing green indicates a delayed green for oncoming traffic, so you can make a left turn. And right turns on red are, if I recall correctly, illegal everywhere. Buses pulling out of a bus stop have the right of way once they turn on their left blinker, and they aren't particularly timid about asserting it.
