Yes... to a point. I shall have to go find the article to see if Mr. Buffalino is doing this, but I have, more than once, heard someone say "life isn't fair" in defense of discrimination. "Life isn't fair, people judge based on appearance, so no matter what your qualifications if you want a good job you should accept that you need to be skinny," or "life isn't fair, people have the right to do business with whom they like, so a shopkeeper should be able to refuse to allow Black people in their store," and so on.

If life were fair, I and everyone I know personally would go far hungrier than we do.
