I was trying to address the problem of a kiosk full of or lacking in bicycles; broken kiosks hopefully get detected by the system when anomalous rent/return patterns happen, and a repair order gets generated? Or is that just foolish optimism on my part combined with my experience with CMMS design?
Since it sounds like the system doesn't mandate returning a rental where you got it from (as Zipcar does), I'm curious how a system like this accounts for "Boston U-Haul" syndrome (wherein every September some ridiculous percentage of all of the moving vans in the US end up in the Northeast, thanks to college students' migration patterns).
