Pensylvania...

...takes longer to drive across than you think.

Also, T-Mobile has really lousy coverage off the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the Allegheny Mountains. For that matter, so does AT&T.

It really does.

That's when an outboard cellular amplifer and roof antenna come in really handy.

Yeah, I want to talk with you about that sometime.

Happy to! I've done this a few times by now, so hopefully I can help out.

Well, their coverage is better than T-Mobile's.

Also, to be fair, I was driving down US 30, not the PA Turnpike. 30 is scenic but not very well-equipped with towers.

I drove across PA every time I came or went to college. Pennsylvania is *forever*.

Possibly not longer than I think. But I'm weird...

At least there are a lot of nice trees to look at.

I'm personally convinced that the Pennsylvania Turnpike is the worst interstate in the entire country. When driving from Indiana to DC, I would take I-70 to I-79 to I-68 back to I-70 and avoid it entirely.

I also hate Pennsylvania for stealing I-99. That number should have gone to Delaware, dammit!

[identity profile] r-ness.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I managed to cross PA this time without ever getting on the PA Turnpike. US 30 and I-81 for parts of it. But it's slower.

I also hate Pennsylvania for stealing I-99.

Yeah, Bud Shuster actually got that number written into the law. Jerk.

It took longer than I thought even when I was doing it every two weeks.

Pennsylvania sucks. The interminable and always unnecessary road construction makes it much longer than it needs to be.

Also, T-mobile does not have mindblowing coverage. My 3 weeks as a customer have not been filled with joy.

*nodnod!* pennsylvania is *huge*, and there are pretty strict (if amusingly posted) speed limits, as i recall.
