It's normally a bad idea to get involved in an undertaking which requires a constant effort to avert disaster. It's certainly not a way to reduce the stress in your life.

Is this a comment about work? :)

How are you?! Would love to catch up at some point. Give E my love. :)

And that's part of the reason why I don't want to live in the USA. :)

Hahaha. Been there, done that.

Also, my sympathies (if this is a comment on something specific and not just an observation.)

Yep. Thing is, some of the time I feel that way about just getting up and going to work. But perhaps that just means I should keep taking my thyroid medicine and my crazymeds....

Uh, isn't that a (somewhat skewed) view of "work"? I mean, failing to have work is pretty much a disaster from most life aspects and it requires constant effort to stay employed - for most of us, anyway.

Life is an undertaking which requires constant effort to avert disaster.
We're just used to it.

Sounds like driving

If you don't steer it, the car crashes.

(I actually go driving to relieve stress sometimes. But I live somewhere so rural that seeing more than one or two cars on the road at a time is considered a traffic jam. :) )

Is this a comment about work? :)

People keep asking that, but it isn't even about me, much less my work. :) Good thing, that.

How are you?! Would love to catch up at some point.

I'm good! It would be great to talk. Can you email me a number and a good time to talk? I actually should ask you something about logistics and planning.

Give E my love.

She sends hers!

Not to be a wet blanket here, but what better alternatives are you considering? Things are looking to suck all over. Going other places, you just get different crises. On the other hand, that may be a good trade, depending on which crises you prefer to deal with. :)

I certainly don't disagree with that, but on the other hand, why search for more drama? You've never struck me as someone who seeks out drama...theatre, but not drama. :)

What it sounds like is driving in Boston. At rush hour. When you're already late.

Seriously, though, it's not like you drive into Boston at rush hour just for the fun of it. :)

And I know what you mean about driving to relieve stress. I really like going on long drives to have conversations.
