bedfull_o_books's car is stuck, immobile in a snowdrift. An hour of digging got us exactly nowhere.
We're now waiting for AAA road service to arrive to tow the car out. So, no visit to her sister's today. Also, bedfull_o_books appears to have thrown out her back.
hmm, I guess I should go buy myself some kitty litter, for this sort of thing. Then use it in the spring for the kitty!
Are you using a real shovel for digging? I've already used my small in-trunk plastic snowshovel twice this season (funny thing, I've been driving with that in the trunk last 5+ years, and this year I've already used it for it's first two times!) Plastic is best, as it won't poke a hole in your tire if you happen to wack your tire while shovelling.
Car was stuck in front of the house, thank goodness. We have 2 plastic real shovels and a car shovel. Didn't save us. Too much snow under the car. We got a tow out of the space. Thank you AAA.
i wish you guys luck, and her back well. without being there or knowing what it feels like, i'd still suggest heat over ice, unless she has any acute pain. *HUG*

Seriously -- sorry about the stuckness and the thrown-out back. Hope the latter heals soon.

I went out this morning to find a five foot pile of snow plowed up behind my car. Luckily, I could pull forward out of the space.
