New love can look for all the world like mental illness, a blend of mania, dementia and obsession that cuts people off from friends and family and prompts out-of-character behavior - compulsive phone calling, serenades, yelling from rooftops - that could almost be mistaken for psychosis.

I just left her room in Mount Auburn Hospital, where she is sleeping. She expects to be there until sometime tomorrow. I'll be bringing her home from the hospital.

She expects to be resting at home for a week after that.

The procedure went well, and she is much less uncomfortable than she expected to be.
