I went back to Sally's tonight. I hadn't been back in years because the people I eat New Haven style pizza with all land on the Pepe's side of the great Wooster Street pizza divide. Also, Pepe's is open for lunch and Sally's isn't.
Anyway, very short summary: I arrived at 5:30PM on a cold rainy Friday* and found multiple booths available, and was placed in one immediately. My order was taken quickly and my pizza arrived within 15 minutes, very hot from the oven. It was excellent, as expected. Service was efficient and gruffly friendly in an old-time Connecticut kind of way. I was in and out in 45 minutes. The whole meal, sausage & mozzarella pizza plus root beer came to $15, tax and tip included.
*Yale's dormitories are open for spring term but classes don't start until Monday. Don't know what difference if any that made.
