Have I sent you this link before: World Atlas of Languages. It may be more linguistics-geeky than you're interested in (it's frequently more linguistics-geeky than I'm interested in), but despite that I still think it's one of the coolest resources I've found on languages.

The Chinese one looks like a political map, but the Arabic one looks like a weather map. :)
