It's not that people are getting dumber.

It's just that they have more ways of broadcasting their stupidity to a wide audience.

EXACTLY. Also, there are far more ways to preserve people's stupidity. There's incredibly dumb stuff I wrote on a mailing list that was, thank God, never archived.

I prefer to embrace the power of and, and choose to believe that not only are people getting dumber, but they have an easier time of spreading their thoughts and actions around. T help other people get dumber, I suppose...

But that's just my opinion. :)
