I try to remember that we, through our posts and comments, are the product, not the customer. Social media has an interest in making it easy for us to create product. It wouldn't be unreasonable to think that ill-considered gaffes are even better product from their point of view, because they attract more attention.
I do try to provide what I consider to be a quality product, if only because it makes me feel better about it all. :)
