It's always an excellent time to stop reading news article comments. The only *better* time to have stopped was when newspaper sites started having comments sections in the first place.

Oh, I haven't stopped reading them. I'm observing last week would have been a good time, because of the way recent events have gotten the trolls posting.

As I said elsewhere in this thread, they give a good view into the zeitgeist.
