Last night, the Orange Julep was packed. The parking lot was nearly full, as customers were serenaded with 60's music from XM. And there wasn't even an official muscle car display that night.

It feels like the Orange Julep in Montreal now occupies the same niche in my life as the various (Gray's) Papaya (King) places in New York do: a last stop to get some sweet fruit drink and a hot dog before leaving town.

It was kind of amusing tuning XM channel 6 in on my car radio in synch with the loudspeakers and then pulling out of the lot and getting on the Decarie while sipping an Orange Julep. Kind of like taking the atmosphere away with me in the car.
