I've been carrying around one of these for a few years now, and it's pretty banged up.

Last time I rode Metro I decided I'd see if my SmarTrip card could be read through the aluminum case. It couldn't.

I'd like to do more testing with an RFID reader and the rest of my cards before I declare that the case is useful for shielding the various cards they're busily stuffing RFID chips into, but at least I've got some evidence that it may work.

Hmm.

I know the former director of the AutoID lab at MIT who is now in private business doing this kind of thing. Wonder what I could find out from him.

Kind of changes your opinion of people walking around wearing pointy tin foil hats, doesn't it? ;)

How's [livejournal.com profile] bedfull_o_books? We miss her at rehearsals.
