So, last night, as I was riding the Fitchburg train home from North Station, I noticed that both the conductors on the 10:40PM service were Asian-American. Well, sure, they look young, and don't have much seniority. It's why you often see women working the transit shifts no one else wants: mostly weekends and late nights.

As I got off and thanked them, I heard them chatting to each other. In Cantonese. Well, then.

Between the conversation and the uniforms it all reminded me of Hong Kong.

(I told this story last night and got a reply that if I'd actually been riding the KCR, service would have been more efficient.)

How often do you pass in the vicinity of North Station? I work near there now you see...and I'd love to see you now that I'm in Boston. Drop me an email if you're ever interested in getting together after work. Though I must admit, I don't stay there till 10:40 often.
