My family and I were always fond of the rum chocolate balls from here:

Google lists the following:

Pâtisserie Loubnan
5820 GOUIN O, MONTRÉAL, QC H4J 1E4, Canada
(514) 333-1056

Pâtisserie Mahrouse
1010 RUE DE LIÈGE OUEST, MONTRÉAL, QC H3N 1B8, Canada
(514) 279-1629

Strange, no? Do you know offhand if I should rely on the street address and name, or on the postal code and phone number?

If not, I'll simply check them both out. :)

Thanks for the pointer!

Eit! Loubnan is the name. The Gouin Ouest address is definitely the right street; I remember navigating there. Toufayan is the guy (he at least used to be there in person doing the baking; he may well still be). I'm not so sure about the correct phone number or postal code, since the listings disagree and I have no independent record.

I am slightly amazed that you were able to find Figaro based on my vague and uninformative directions. Do tell me what you thought when you have the time--I haven't been in so long.

I didn't actually eat anything at Figaro, although [livejournal.com profile] bedfull_o_books had a croissant, appropriately enough.

I can ask her, though. I look forward to going back there and actually ordering something.
