The cool part is that that's just the touristy side. The people who live there all are in "the industry", so it's not a big deal if, for instance, a Las Vegas schoolteacher is into BDSM...the parents don't freak out, because the parents are probably strippers or bartenders or dealers .......
Yes. I also liked what you said earlier about Las Vegas being an "amazing simulacrum of a town". The Strip and associated tourist neighborhoods are like an enormous set, with the rest of the city backstage.
Having been there last week, I agree. There are some casinos that don't have the "uber-teensey waitress costumes" but apparently if you are female but aren't young and skinny and tallish, you are useless as any kind of person to interact with the public.
Have you gotten to the Hilton to do the Star Trek Experience yet? If not, do so! Klingon is better than the Borg, but both are fun.
