Date: 2008-06-15 03:16 pm (UTC)We can fix the laws, but we're still battling the bigotry in this country.
A colleague of mine is marrying his beloved next year. He still treads lightly with strangers about this because some members of HER family (old, white money) have made him feel awkward about it.
I'm hoping for the day when people are TRULY free to marry who they choose, without laws OR bigots trying to interfere.
