I've voted.

In fact, I voted Monday.

Can you tell I can't wait to have this campaign over? I know, my voting won't make it end any quicker. But still.

Yeah, it's hard to escape the whole crazy show from just about anywhere in the States.

We can vote early here? Tell me more!

Sure!

I went down to City Hall (downstairs, at Elections) and voted absentee, as I'm going to be out of town on Tuesday. They did ask, and I think I heard them deny an absentee ballot to someone else because they just wanted to vote early.

But if you qualify, you can vote absentee.

Oh, drat. I'm not going to be out of town--just pressed for time. Oh, well!

! Are you in MA right now? I thought we couldn't vote early here, or I would have weeks ago, because, yeah, it would have let me feel I could just *not pay attention* to all the annoying aspects of the current campaign. I mean, I can't imagine what, at this date, would change my vote.

Alas, you can't unless you fit the standard absentee ballot qualifications. I'm going to be out of town, so I qualified.

I voted last night. It'll be nice to be able to do the "talk to the hand" thing when accosted by canvassers this weekend (which WILL happen, unless I huddle in my house).

I hadn't thought of that! Excellent!

I never vote absentee--I love the feeling of voting on election day. Really being a part of something. And also knowing for sure that my vote will actually be counted, which is not guaranteed if your state is a landslide and you vote absentee.

Of course my state is not likely to be a landslide and my vote could actually matter. And I'm working as a poll observer Tuesday morning and then working all afternoon. And we have no-excuse early voting here. Nevertheless I intend to vote on Tuesday. Crazy moi.

I'm glad you are getting a sense of relief from it, though. I think I would just have a sense of helplessness.
