Dec. 4th, 2008 06:56 amI think back to some of the conversations I've had, and some of the things I've said, and it really does make me wince. I've said some remarkably stupid things in my day.
Oddly enough I find this encouraging. Not only does it mean I'm unlikely to say things which are that stupid in that way again (although it's certain that I will find plenty of new ways to sound dumb), but it also makes me think I'm actually learning something, as I actually see why what I said was silly.
Or perhaps I'm getting more deluded in my dotage. Who knows? :)

Date: 2008-12-04 12:39 pm (UTC)There are kinds of mistakes, including stupid things I've said, that I don't think I'll make again, too. I hope there are fewer new mistakes out there.

Date: 2008-12-04 02:29 pm (UTC)I frequently have to remind myself that this is a good thing.
I don't always believe it.
