Yesterday was a day for looking up at the sky.

During the day, I chased hot-air balloons (trying to stay out of the way of the actual balloon chase teams) around St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. That night, I went down below the Cartier bridge and watched (and listened to) fireworks that were close enough to set off the alarms in parked cars around me.

Pictures of balloons but not fireworks will follow when I have more consistent net.

From a rooftop distant I felt they were only so-so.

The best part of it was I got to have a discussion with Ellen Datlow on the awesomeness of her using "my wife" during her panel commentary...
