It turns out the two are both automotive photographers who jump from city to city churning out the kind of viral car videos Internet fanboys suck down like Red Bull for sites like Speedhunters and Driftfotos.

So when they found themselves trapped in the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport terminal late one night on a layover following a Formula Drift event in West Palm Beach they did what they always do when they're bored: make movies. And since they were coming back from an event they just happened to have $30,000 worth of camera equipment between them.

Of course, now the security paranoiacs are upset.

I dislike saying that people should get a sense of humor because of how often that phrase gets used as a weapon, but... sheesh, the people complaining this makes the airport "look bad" really need to get a sense of humor.

If the airport had something else for people stuck there to do all night, it wouldn't look so bad, now would it? Those folk shouldn't just get a sense of humor, they should examine their privilege and also the sticks up their butts. (I mean does it even bear mentioning that part of the reason some folk are freaking out is because they're freaked by the idea of brown people playing in their airports? Assholes.)

the other weird thing is that i'm seeing people posting "omg, people running around unmolested and where is security - what if they were doing something bad?" Doesn't this make the airport look unguarded?

but y'know? SEVERAL times in the vid there's some cleaning staff or other. If they'd started screwing up the escalator instead of screwing around on it, yeah, soemeone would have noticed.

(Restaurant probably should have been more locked up for semiobvious reasons, but again, yeesh.
