Apparently they do this to herd prey fish, like dolphins do with bubbles. Notice that they land flat, with as much of a smack as possible.
It is wonderful to see.

That's cool to know. When we were in Hawai'i we visited an aquarium and heard a talk about manta of various sorts. The marine biologist said that they have intelligence about the level of a smart dog.

Ooh, I think it has to be the latter, so we can have a cleverly designed TMF logo. :D
Also, today my boss suggested Marc Fields and the Bad Data as a band name!
