It irritates me that it's so much harder to find single-serving packages of full-fat yogurt in American supermarkets than in many other countries.

the lack irritates me too

It seems to be regional and/or depend on the store. My handiest local supermarket just doesn't have them (only quarts, or single servings of low-fat). When I needed a bit more yogurt while visiting Adrian, there was a reasonable choice of single-serving full-fat yogurt at the Whole Foods on Mass Ave. in Somerville.

(I've not looked for the single servings in Montreal, because I'm in the habit of buying larger containers of plain full-fat yogurt, and adding jam or fruit at home.)

I should bear that in mind, thanks. I tend to ask [personal profile] rysmiel to just pick up a large container of plain full-fat yogurt when I'm going to be visiting them in Montreal, but if the individual servings are easily available maybe I'll ask them to keep an eye out for those instead.

OMG, me too. And the one brand that my local supermarket does carry (Liberte), they are always out of, nearly out of, or only have the one crappy flavor left. Yet this doesn't seem to encourage them to carry more of it, or more flavors, or anything. Instead there are miles of chalky-tasting low-fat Chobani.

I'll have a look at them again, but all the store-brand Greek yogurt (and nearly all the Greek yogurt in general) I saw at Wegman's was either low- or non-fat.

It's really hard to find full-fat yogurt in single-serving packages. There are expensive specialty yogurts at Wegman's and at Whole Foods, or there are big containers of plain or vanilla yogurt at most supermarkets, but generally that's it. Market Basket has a few options hiding among all the non-fat and 2%. And Stop and Shop often has nothing. :(

Yes, that too.

I have in my hands right now a 140g glass jar of Dunnes Stores "Simply Better" (their premium store brand) yogurt, lemon curd flavor. It is bedfull_o_books favorite brand of yogurt. Sadly, it is empty as US Customs will not allow such a dangerously competitive product to enter the land of the free.

The ingredients list is as follows: "Cow's Milk, Lemon Curd (20%) [Sugar, Whole Egg, Water, Salted Butter, Concentrate Lemon Juice, Citric Acid, Agar, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Tri Sodium Citrate], Cream, Skim Milk Powder, Lactic Acid Cultures. Contains Live Cultures: Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus Acidophilus."

Not a hint of artificial sweetener.

Produced and packed in County Wexford.

But I'm not bitter. Much.

It is stuck in customs next to Kinder Surprise eggs and most French cheeses

All these products are clearly too dangerous to import...

...for their American competitors, at least. But somehow, Canada survives.

Grrrr.

(bedfull_o_books likes Kinder Surprise eggs, too. And most French cheeses.)

Similarly, I loved Sainsbury's "Taste the Difference" brand when we lived in England. Particularly the rhubarb.
