Another year, another dead power supply board. Not a great design, that PowerBook plug.

I owe some of you email. That email is on the dead machine.

I feel your pain; I replaced one of those DC-in boards on an iBook earlier today.

I've seen a tale of replacing the Apple power jack with an RCA connector which is about the same size and is significantly less finicky. I wasn't up to trying it myself, though.
