Eggy Bread Emergency.
Feb. 27th, 2018 12:55 amHere in New England we're familiar with the term French Toast Emergency. When a snowstorm is predicted, people rush to the grocers and buy up all the bread, milk, and eggs.
Apparently this happens in the UK and Ireland as well. (They're expecting some snowy weather over the next few days.)
I don't see anyone calling it an Eggy Bread Emergency, however.

I imagine Danes and Swedes being too sensible to strip grocery store shelves of bread at the first sign of snow. Or just too jaded.
As you say, that's just winter, not "the beast from the east", as the British are calling it.
