I'm back in Sydney.
Mar. 22nd, 2004 09:59 pmAny recommendations for places I *have* to check out?
tafkar was kind enough to point me at Bill's, in Darlinghurst, for breakfast. I hope to go there in the morning.
Any other pointers? I just ate kaiten sushi at a little Korean place in King's Cross. Cheap and fast, but not really write-up material.

Date: 2004-03-22 01:02 pm (UTC)You may also want to try a pide (stuffed Turkish bread) - even the one I had at a food court was a pleasant suprise for me.
There's also the Maltese Cafe on Crown Street, Darlinghurst which has these fun little Maltese pastries called pastizzi and is a hub for local alt. life.
It's all immigrant food I'm recommending - that's because good Aussie tucker, mate, is a pie with gravy, and expensive Aussie tucker is yabbies, "bugs", and shrimp (all seafood, those three), steaks, and exotic meats (emu, kangaroo) dressed up with fusion cooking.
