Tokyo, btw, is cleaner than Singapore. Then again, colinmac once remarked that for centuries one penalty for disturbing the social order was summary execution.

I didn't know that! I did see some newspaper headlines about Matsui, but I thought they were the usual Japanese obsession with Japanese baseball players playing in the major leagues.

They are playing in about four hours at the Tokyo Dome against the Devil Rays. They beat the Yomiyuri Giants (Matsui led off with a home run!) the first day, but lost to the Hanshin Tigers the second day, and then lost to the Devil Rays 8-3 yesterday (which was opening day). Hopefully they'll do better today...

If you find any of the sushi Pooh figures

Two of my friends want the little figures of Pooh dressed as sushi. Hard to find, only available in Japan. If you come across any (for even a faintly reasonable price, such as US$50 for the set of 5), I'll gladly reimburse you for the cost, your trouble, and a sufficient bribe.

Okay, I tried Tokyu Hands, which had both Pooh figures and figures of sushi, but no sushi Pooh figures. Alas.
