George Soros put more money and effort into defeating W. than nearly anyone else. He was asked by Christopher Gunness, in an interview broadcast by the BBC last week, whether he would leave the country if Bush were re-elected. He said he would stay, because:
"America is still the place where the future of the world will be decided, and I will continue to fight."
I quote this from memory because I am on a slow connection and cannot replay the interview, which you can find at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/the_interview.shtml
until 1932 GMT Saturday, 7 November, when they will replace it with this week's Interview.
If someone would like to transcribe the quote accurately or point me at a transcription, I will correct my post.

I'm staying, but Clay and Ellie go.
Date: 2004-11-04 08:03 am (UTC)I hope to God I'm wrong, but if I'm not, I'm going to be ready. I'm buying land up in Canada. If anyone wants 'in' on it with me, drop a line. Be ready to send your kids somewhere safe. There's no harm if you are ready and nothing comes of things.
