Thought for the day: #2, more kisses.

Very early Sunday morning, R and I were talking about kissing. She said so many people were eager to get past the kissing part, and move on, that she felt that they didn't pay sufficient attention to kissing as an act in and of itself. She's a big fan.

She's right, of course. Kissing is great fun, and we both think it doesn't get enough attention for itself, as opposed to a part of something else.

We spent a lot of time comparing notes about kissing styles, and the forcefulness and wetness of various kissers we both had kissed. There are, of course, variations in what people like, and we agreed on some things, and agreed to disagree on others.

It all made me realize I hadn't done enough intensive kissing over the last year, and that I should do something about that. Practice is both fun and educational!

So, I guess that's my resolution for this year, and going forward: more kissing!

Hmmm. And now I'm thinking about the differences in how different people kiss--specifically, the people I've kissed relatively recently.

I look forward to collecting more data on each of their styles.

I dated a guy for a couple/few years who basically didn't kiss. No kissing, no cuddling; sex sometimes (not often enough), but it was all or nothing. It drove me crazy.

Would that I had someone to, er, collect data with, but it's hit the two-year drought mark for me, all the boys I meet at school are boys (17-23, mostly), and I just don't have the attention span for a relationship while focusing on homework and dance. Feh is all I have to say. ^_^

As a teen, I spent long hours sitting on my front porch (IN FULL VIEW OF THE NEIGHBORS (gasp!) to the intense dismay of my grandmother who lived in the ground floor apartment) kissing my boyfriend. I can't quite describe the particular way we kissed, but it involved long periods of 'tongue in mouth' and other such things, and the older I get the more I miss it. There have been others who kiss like that, but very very very few who have stuck around, and fewer still who have used it as it's own activity and not just 'during something else'.

Yah, I know what you mean.

I sort of wish there were more ways to arrange it, but apart from a couple of friends who make an effort to instigate lots of kissing at parties I don't know of that many venues in which one can kiss people and not imply either "I want a relationship" or "this is the prelude to wild sex".

I mean, neither of those sentiments is a bad thing, just different from what I'm looking for, which I guess is "I'd like to practice kissing with different people with different techniques".

Maybe there should be a class. With a lab practical. :)

I seem to recall kissing you experimentally a time or two, "back in the day."

On another note... Charley and I, after about six years, finally figured out how to kiss each other so we both enjoy it. Amazing. And MUCH MORE FUN NOW!!

I have to agree, kissing is my favourite part. Naked kissing has its moments,
but real kissing, when both people are paying attention, and really care
about what's going on, with plenty of feedback, there's nothing like that.

I need more of that. It makes the rest of life that much more fun.
