Back from the doctor.
(Specifically for
apintrix and
cmat, who very kindly asked to be kept up to date. And others, who didn't specifically ask, but did comment. I've been babbling about my various minor illnesses for long enough that I'm sure I've become tedious. Thank you all for paying attention.)
Diagnosis. I have:
The irony of my having contracted (commonly) childhood diseases is not lost on me. Nothing serious, and stuff you'd see in a third-grader. (Insert obvious remarks about maturity here.) Although as
resonance42 gently suggested, I should not have toughed it out for nearly a month before going to have it looked at.
Anyway, must go as I'm late for a dinner; thanks again for listening!
Diagnosis. I have:
Fifth disease, a viral infection "commonest amongst 4 - 10 yr olds."
Conjunctivitis, possibly viral, possibly bacterial

You should try to avoid exposing pregnant women to Fifth's Disease though. If you think you've exposed any pregnant women you should let them know.

In any case, I'm staying far away from pregnant women now...
Thanks for the good wishes!

The last time I saw you, you were in still mostly confined to bed with your leg up, and I brought you sesame balls. It was months and months ago, because the air conditioning was on in your room. :)
At least, that's the last time I remember seeing you. Has it really been that long?
I'm guessing I didn't get it directly from you. :) However, there are lots of asymptomatic carriers of this thing, so circulating around the edges of Suspects is possible. It's also possible I got it on one of the campuses I spend time at.
In any case, hope you're feeling better soon!

And we should fix the hanging out thing. When?

At least you know what it is now, though. Oi.

Gaah
In any case, good luck with the recovery. Once the red comes out, the worst is over, or such was my experience.
Re: Gaah
Great. :)

Yah, that's how it seems to me, too. Thanks!
Re: Gaah
You see why she's my physician, yes? :-)
Re: Gaah

Okay. I leave this up to you and your schedule. :) early-mid afternoon tends to be best for me, and not Fridays.
And please make sure at least the eye stuff is better; I'm really paranoid about that, because if I get it, I can't deal with it, and the last time I did have it, I was also allergic to the medication.
Oh, and I hope you're feeling better, overall. :)

Also, I won't come by before my eyes settle down, definitely. They have me putting drops in my eyes for the next week.
Oh, and I hope you're feeling better, overall. :)
Thanks!

Yeah. I have a thing on my hand that was described to me as a late-emerging birthmark. My dermatologist said she'd never seen it on anyone who wasn't four.
The one time I had my horoscope cast (it was gift), one of the things the woman said was that as a Capricorn, I am aging backwards, becoming sillier and less conservative as I age. I liked that, but I'm gonna be pissed if I have to have chicken pox again.

I came back from the doctor's with a goodie bag full of interesting medications. :)

Glad that it worked out to be only fifth disease (I love that name - the origin of it is even funnier).
Feel better!

Yah, I was actually doing a bit of research at the time I posted, and I noticed that couple of those possibilities were scary enough that if I had them, I probably wasn't going to make it to the doctor's office. Not on my own, at least.
Thus the "ut-oh". :)
But the lack of any fever was somewhat reassuring, as was the fact that overall, I was getting better.
Thanks for the good wishes!

Notwithstanding that, it's still a big pain, and you have my deepest sympathy!
