Anyone know offhand if tickets for the Société de transport de Montréal (the bus and metro operator) expire at the end of the calendar year printed on them? I have two 2005 tickets left and wonder whether I'll be able to use them in 2006.

A search of http://www.stcum.qc.ca returns no relevant information.

I don't think they do. I bought six on my way out of town, last visit, planning to use them at the end of this month/beginning of next (which will be 2006).

Montreal bus drivers mostly aren't that careful about checking, in my experience; I don't know about the Metro, though.

I'll know in a month, so check back with me if you don't get an answer before then.

They don't expire, but if they notice they may ask you to pay the difference. If you're taking a bus, they probably won't notice. If you're going by metro, go through the window stile and slip the ticket through the slot at the window--the machines at the other stiles are the only things I can think of that may pick up on the date difference.
