News outlets around the Bay Area have been running stories about the wet March here. Twenty-five of the thirty-one days of last month had measurable rainfall.

It's really made the landscape around here a very pretty green. I drove down I-680 from Vallejo this afternoon. The hills were the bright green of young grass.

There's going to be more rain here later today, they say.

You're in the Bay Area? I didn't know you were in the Bay Area. And yes, this weather is not as advertised.

And here in the Boston area we had the dryest (I typed that word four times trying to figure out the correct way to spell it, ie or y?) March since 1915 with only about 1/2 inch of rain all month. We are under red flag warnings for forest fires and there is no yard waste burning allowed. Things are still quite winter grey. Although we did get a little rain yesterday it in now way makes up for the 5+ inch deficit.

Oh, I adore that green! Although I also love hills when they're golden in the summer. Actually, the weirdest thing was being home for spring break and, on part of 680, snowy peaks right behind the green rolling hills.

I hope you're enjoying your time in the Bay Area!

It was also the driest March on record in Central Park (the NYC official weather station). Nonetheless, all the lawns are greening nicely--there's enough water still in the soil for the moment.

This year green, next year brown, later that year or the year after that black.

At least that's the southern California progression...

Yeah, the green is really intense this year, and it's lasting forever, which is absurdly nice.

It was good having you over, glad you liked Mi Pueblo. I'm continuing your game, and am within 15 or 20 turns of acheiving space.

I too am in Palo Alto. If you are not too busy, perhaps we could even get coffee or lunch or something?
