England in grip of severe weather

Yes, I am somewhat bemused that 5cm (2 in.) of snow is a big deal, but it is England. I've seen what an inch of snow does to London.

Also, outside of the big cities, British roads can be pretty scary. Imagine driving one of those little B roads in 2 inches of snow!

There's also the problem that the drivers can't cope, and don't usually have snow tires.
