'Cuz I'm in El Lay, where there's a heck of a lot of light pollution as well, and I caught a pretty amazing meteorite streak in my peripheral vision from the rooftop of a club last night.
You must have been shooting-star-crossed.
Hopefully, you'll be in the right place at the right time to catch the Aurigids on Sept. 1st. I've been told the North American West Coast will be the optimal viewing location for it. Come visit!
Apparently I live in the single most densely populated city in New England. (I've heard people say it's the most densely populated city in America, but I'm not sure that's true, so I'll only lay claim to New England.)
But yes, no Perseids for me.
Alas, I have a wedding September 1st. But thanks for the invitation! I'll be out one of these days.
I checked the census data at one point, can't remember if it was 1990 or 2000, but I seem to remember that s'ville ranked fourth most dense for the nation in its weight class (municipalities in the 100k range).
You sure about your land?
