Ugg boots.
Mar. 16th, 2008 03:33 pmMaybe it was that it was slightly warmer--50s Fahrenheit rather than 40s--but no one was wearing Ugg boots in any of the parts of Europe I visited. That, or they have gone entirely out of style there, if they were ever in style there at all. I tend to think the latter, because there were plenty of people wearing boots, just not Ugg boots.
I noticed this because when I got back to the States, I started seeing them again.

Date: 2008-03-16 09:01 pm (UTC)At a local news website, someone posted a picture they took of a junior high school hallway from about knee height downwarnds and it was a sea of Uggs and jeans.
I actually never associated them with fashion trends outside of coastal surfing areas, since they were contemporarily popularized by Australian surfers. I first started seeing them in SoCal worn by surfers, too. They will probably never leave my town, since Ugg the brand is now owned by Deckers, a Santa Barbara company. :)
