One of the things I prefer LiveJournal for over Twitter or Facebook is long, disquisitive posts, as opposed to just a quick snapshot of what you're doing. Blogging software does that, but without the social network that LiveJournal does.

Just thinking aloud.

On the other hand, that quick thought is a pretty long one for either Twitter or Facebook.
