I still love my land line. I refuse to let Verizon 'upgrade me' by cutting my copper. We loose power frequently enough that I really appreciate my phone that keeps right on working.

Ditto here. Lots of lost power and usually the landline works even if the power is out. (We do have a generator if needed, though...)
