[livejournal.com profile] bedfull_o_books is taking a deserved rest, but I'm wide awake, and looking for food and conversation at what is, in greater Boston, a wildly inappropriate time for either.

As an experiment, I figured I'd see if anyone reading my LJ is both awake and interested in hanging out. I have a car, and I know how to use it. :)

(I will really be surprised if anyone answers, but I should be up for a bit.)

LOL!

um. i'm awake, and i could be game, except that i've had far, far too little sleep in the past few weeks. also i wouldn't say that i'm great company right at the moment.

but in other circumstances? absolutely. i live for this stuff. :)

Go sleep, definitely.

*hug* You're always good company, dear.

but in other circumstances? absolutely. i live for this stuff. :)

I'll keep that in mind. Is this a good way to find you, or is another way better next time?

*hugs* LJ and email are the two ways. i check one or the other (or both) until i shut down. best to try both, just in case one is feeling frustrating. :)

I'd so love to take you up on this. I love middle of the night food outings. Unfortunately, I need to do the wise thing and decline. Marc is leaving for a work trip in the morning and I'll be solo-parenting for two days, so need as much sleep/cope as possible!

Maybe next time?

Sure, sounds good. I don't see you enough.

Get lots of rest and good luck solo-parenting!

I just got off work, but I'm a little too beat for an outing at the moment. I'll be getting off late the next few days, so may be up for something tomorrow or the day after at similarly ungodly hours.

*nod* Take care, get rest.

Okay, cool. As I mentioned to [livejournal.com profile] wolfkitn, I may be out of town midweek, but that's not clear right now. In any case, I'll be back by Friday night.

It'll be great to see you!

Say, are you usually up at this hour? Down in CT I don't usually have net access, but if there's another good way to reach you I'll use that.

Ah, I want my transporters, and I want them now, dammit...we could go and find some gnosh, ya know? I mean, with transporters, I'd have you at Canter's Deli faster than you can say Matzoh Ball Soup.

Ah, awake...

Hell, if teleportation was available, I'd come get you and we'd blow right out of the States. It's about the right time for late lunch in Bangkok...

*sigh*

Be good to sit down and catch up some. Been way too long.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I'd LOVE to, but the drive would be a bit long. (Am in LA at the moment, at Steph's house.) Hope you ended up finding good conversation and/or good food and/or good dreams. :o)

Alas, probably now moot, since [livejournal.com profile] emilymorgan is a fly-by-night. Actually, considering the dateline and all, she's probably been a fly-by-all-times-of-the-day-and-night, recently, but anyway she's almost certainly gone again by now.

Hey, where in or near the Boston/Cambridge area do you get food in the middle of the night, anyhow? In my experience, it's hard to get food after dark around here, let alone after midnight!

(Yeah...I know about IHOP...but I was thinking, you know, food.)

Chinatown is a good bet until 3 (or on weekends, 4). On this side of the river, Cambridge Common is quite yummy and open until 1 on weeknights and 2 on weekends. But yes, at 11:00 on a weeknight one could drive to New York and there'd be more restaurants open when you got there than there were in Boston when you left.

[livejournal.com profile] palmwiz had some good suggestions, which is fitting for a guy who used to compile an online list of Boston late-night eats. He also mentioned the New York option, which may be a nod to my oft-repeated, though not yet executed, threat to drive to Montreal to find late-night food.

Montreal has an impressive amount of late-night food for a city its size.

As for last night, I was actually thinking of going to Stop and Shop and going over with the food and cooking it. Stop and Shop in Everett is open 24 hours 5 nights of the week.
