[livejournal.com profile] bedfull_o_books is taking a deserved rest, but I'm wide awake, and looking for food and conversation at what is, in greater Boston, a wildly inappropriate time for either.

As an experiment, I figured I'd see if anyone reading my LJ is both awake and interested in hanging out. I have a car, and I know how to use it. :)

(I will really be surprised if anyone answers, but I should be up for a bit.)

Hey, where in or near the Boston/Cambridge area do you get food in the middle of the night, anyhow? In my experience, it's hard to get food after dark around here, let alone after midnight!

(Yeah...I know about IHOP...but I was thinking, you know, food.)

Chinatown is a good bet until 3 (or on weekends, 4). On this side of the river, Cambridge Common is quite yummy and open until 1 on weeknights and 2 on weekends. But yes, at 11:00 on a weeknight one could drive to New York and there'd be more restaurants open when you got there than there were in Boston when you left.

[livejournal.com profile] palmwiz had some good suggestions, which is fitting for a guy who used to compile an online list of Boston late-night eats. He also mentioned the New York option, which may be a nod to my oft-repeated, though not yet executed, threat to drive to Montreal to find late-night food.

Montreal has an impressive amount of late-night food for a city its size.

As for last night, I was actually thinking of going to Stop and Shop and going over with the food and cooking it. Stop and Shop in Everett is open 24 hours 5 nights of the week.
