Tangentially related to that, I'll be driving from New Haven to Boston. I also have a craving for mac and cheese. Any suggestions for a stop or a place in Boston with good mac and cheese are welcome.

That, I can do myself...but thanks. :)

Separately, though, will you be awake after midnight? I'm driving up from New Haven after I pack some things at my parents'.

I bet that book nook place has it. They were all over the americana.

But I think it's on 95...

Are you talking about that place that has the yellow FOOD and BOOKS sign? I've eaten there; they're good. Unfortunately I think they close at ten.

Thanks for the suggestion, though!

Pity you didn't do this Saturday night when Browngirl made fabulous mac & cheese.

My favorite fast food mac&cheese is from Cranberry Farms, at the BU student union food court.

Alas.

Now, of course, I want her recipe. :)

My favorite fast food mac&cheese is from Cranberry Farms, at the BU student union food court.

Thanks for the pointer! I'll have to go check it out.

Rein's Deli (http://www.reinsdeli.com/) off of I-84 has baked mac and cheese. I haven't tried it, but everything else I've had there has been good. And they're open until midnight.

Per [livejournal.com profile] ndrtoon: Redbones, in Somerville, apparently has the mac and cheese you seek. (It's a bbq place.) He also is trying desperately to remember the name of another place, and thinks it might be Blue Ribbon Barbecue, in Boston proper.

Blue Ribbon is in Arlington, MA, but sure. It's plausible.

I am amused by the thought of you folks telling me to go to BBQ places in greater Boston.

The best Mac & Cheese I know of is my sister's recipie which I will ask her for at Christmas Break (I am now collecting recipies for my new recipie book). It involves 4 kinds of cheese and the usual pasta shape, some breadcrumbs and possibly some milk. But man, oh man, do those ingredients seem to meld well together.

If I make it when I get back, I'll invite you over for some.

Does this mean you've left for Christmas Break already?
