Tangentially related to that, I'll be driving from New Haven to Boston. I also have a craving for mac and cheese. Any suggestions for a stop or a place in Boston with good mac and cheese are welcome.

Per ndrtoon: Redbones, in Somerville, apparently has the mac and cheese you seek. (It's a bbq place.) He also is trying desperately to remember the name of another place, and thinks it might be Blue Ribbon Barbecue, in Boston proper.

Blue Ribbon is in Arlington, MA, but sure. It's plausible.

I am amused by the thought of you folks telling me to go to BBQ places in greater Boston.
